The Grand Stand Prediction:

After the highly charged press conference that resulted in both coaches showing their cards early by revealing a determination to not be undermined by any quarters of the African football fraternity, we shouldn’t be surprised to see both sides come out and go for the jugular right from the onset. Algeria have a well balanced side packed with experienced campaigners and talented younger lads that promise to establish themselves as a Golden Generation for The Dessert Warriors, this 2015 edition of the African Cup of Nations could just be the sternest test of their willingness and aptitude to win when it counts. Drawn in a group that will require great game management and even greater squad mentality, South Africa have been simply hard to breakdown under the tutelage of Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba and the boys are now resembling a true South African football side; it will be great to see how they rise to the occasion and show their desire to maintain their great form and unbeaten record since Bra Shakes took the reigns. The squad will be without the suspended Mulomowandau Mathoho, who has formed an outstanding partnership with young Rivaldo Coetzee at the back and it will be exciting to watch how the wunderkind center back deals with the offensive threat of Algeria without his regular defensive partner; yet the side will be determined to make their nation proud and get something out of this encounter against Africa’s highest ranked nation.
