Cameroon are a nation looking to build for the future, with talented young players in all departments, The Indomitable Lions have yet to fully click as a side in this tournament; the quality is there for them to become a successful outfit now, yet the growth and development of a new generation is bound to take time if it’s be have a solid foundation for longevity. Volker Finke’s side have already been decent to watch without even kicking into second gear, the onus is on them to up the ante and showcase the abundant ability they certainly have in their locker. Guinea will pose a different type of opposition to The Eagles, it will be entertaining to watch how the Indomitable Lions respond to their more adventurous opponents and it will be worth noting how react to the pressure of needing a win before taking the Ivory Coast in their final group game.

This young Guinea team has already impressed many neutrals with their desire to play a good brand of football while going forward very well and entertaining with a purpose, they gave a good account of themselves against a more experienced Ivory Coast side and could have emerged as deserved winners were it not for a lack of composure and game management ability to close the game off against 10 men. It will be entertaining to watch how the talented youngsters step up their performance against a team brimming with fellow potential laden youngsters and afford themselves a crack at qualifying for the next round and being one of the surprise packages of this 30th edition of the African Cup of Nations. It has been a pleasure watching many of these talented National Elephants do battle for their national side, one can expect to watch them grow into established continental stars in the coming editions; but before we think so far ahead, we need to acknowledge that these lads could actually give us another great performance and pull of on upset against the revived Indomitable Lions.
