The Grand Stand Prediction:

We have reached the penultimate game of the 2015 African Cup of Nations; a clash that many have often mockingly dubbed “The Losers Final”, both sides will be eager to cap off their tournament with a medal finish and have a bronze token to show for their unlikely run into the last four. It promises to be an open encounter as both sides will have little to lose and a medal to gain; we hope to see a positive display of attacking football from two sides that have dished up some pleasing performances in the last few weeks.

DR Congo will be reeling from their humbling defeat to The Elephants and they should come out with a point to prove against the hosts, the possible return of skipper and midfield general Yussuf Mulumbu should spurn them on to play at a higher level and show that their run has been a deserved one; for the neutrals, it’s another chance to watch the magician named Yannick Bolasie in action, that is always a treat.

Equatorial Guinea are a nation in need of some positivity after the disgusting scenes that marred their defeat against the Black Stars, The National Thunder will need to put in a great team performance and remind the entire football fraternity of just how good they are at what they do. A solid attacking display against a defensively fragile DR Congo could be just what the doctor ordered for the nation; they could cap off a great tournament with an unexpected 3rd place finish and ensure that we all remember them for football reasons.
