India go into the tournament as defending champions with their sweet taste of victory coming at home soil against the co-hosts, Sri Lanka. However, their recent run doesn’t fill the Indian hearts with hopes having not won a match since the start of their Australian tour in — – all formats included. Their form away from home is a less than impressive one in genera, nonetheless with players like Kohli, Dhoni & Jadeja perhaps, who knows how far they can go?

They’re not as good a team as they once were, and their ranking tells that tale. Regardless, this is not a team one writes off on any given day. While they don’t offer a bigger group of match-changing players such as the likes of Australia & South Africa, they have the number one ranked bowler at their disposal, as well as the on-and-off Afridi who can do wonders with the bat with very little time needed. Their captain, Misbah-ul-Haq is a player to look out for.
