When Ajax Cape Town started selling off the bulk of their established first teamers and returned to their policy of fielding more of their development products, very few within the Mzansi football fraternity knew just how much talent the Urban Warriors had at their disposal; Travis Graham ranks as one of the classiest footballers to come out of an academy that has made a craft out of producing elite level young footballers of an extremely high quality. As far as defensive midfield players go, the Ajax skipper is a modern age marvel worthy of endless admiration for his superlative levels of maturity and ability; very few would have imagined that the lad would develop at the rate that he continues to grow at. Ajax have had to fight off interest from clubs overseas that have recognised the genius that is Travis, one gets the impression that he has a season and a half to go before he is truly ready to make the leap onto the next level as a footballer; South African football will benefit from having a talent like Graham to call on in midfield as he has the ability to form part of an outstanding young national side going forward. A natural ball winner with the insane ability to not only win the ball but also distribute it effectively while being blessed with great positional sense, Travis Graham has all the tools to develop into one of the finest regista’s from Africa once he puts his entire game together.
