The Talent Scout Report: (Positional)

When a teenage Ayanda Patosi left Mzansi and signed a professional contract with Belgian Pro League side KSC Lokeren, very few people within the Mzansi Diski fraternity actually knew who the lad was and what levels of potential he had been blessed with; bypassing playing professional football in Mzansi, the ASD Cape Town academy graduate became an instant hit in Belgium when he scored on his professional debut and his star has continued to rise beyond the expectations of all and sundry. The Khayelitsha born attacking genius has continued to develop into a well rounded playmaking threat and it has been surprising to see him overlooked at national level for players that aren’t of the same calibre as he is; yet the lad continues to grind away and build an ever-growing reputation in the football fraternity as a player to watch out for. His direct running and trickery on the ball make him a nightmare for opposition defenders to mark and his ever improving eye for goal also make him a more complete attacking player when he moves into channels and unsettles defences with his pace and positional awareness. A sort of rarity in Mzansi Diski, Ayanda has the ability to unleash powerful shots with either peg and his long range shooting ability makes him even harder to contain when he drifts in off the wing and into the hole; the lad is also blessed with a keen eye for a through-ball and it only serves to add to his well balanced attacking game. Technical efficiency without a football brain often leads to a misuse of talents on the field, Ayanda has been blessed with a high football IQ that allows him to play his natural game at a high level and always seem to be able to afford himself time and space on the ball to execute what his beautiful mind conceives; the future looks bright for a lad that continues to grow in stature with the regular game time he receives and its only a matter of time before the bigger sides in Europe come calling for him as he has the ability to excel at an even higher level.
