There seems to be something ideal about the Ajax Cape Town development scouts and coaches when it comes to their procurement and development of top class young attacking midfield players; over the years, a talented young creative genius seems to come out of Ikamva every other season to amaze all and sundry within the Mzansi football realm. The next in line from this great conveyor belt of talent is a young lad that was almost lost to The Urban Warriors when his long running contract dispute saw him free to train with any club of his choosing before his welcomed return to playing professionally for the club that helped developed his precious God given talent.
Riyaad is a throwback to the old –school wingers with the versatility of the new age wide players that has been topped off with a unique array of technical and physical gifts to make for one dynamic and awe inspiring attacking midfield player with bags of potential in his locker. Blessed with the astonishing ability to dribble the ball while running at pace into threatening positions, Norodien makes great use of the danger he causes amongst opposition defensive lines by picking out teammates with accurate passes and crosses that make him a constant goal threat for his side. The sturdily built technician seems to be developing a greater sense of awareness in the final third and his goal account should be ticking over constantly after he gets his game together and builds up a run of games at the elite level while furthering his development. The future looks bright for a young lad that has already softened the blow of losing an influential and talented player like Keagan Dolly, Riyaad will be eager to go further than Dolly has already as an Ajax player and prove that the clubs investment in youth players pays off exponentially for all parties.
