The Talent Scout Report: (Positional)

Mzansi seems to have concocted a reliable formula for producing young ball-playing central defenders to meet the demands of modern age football, where defenders are tasked with not just stopping attacking moves but creating them as well with dexterity on the ball a commodity in young defenders these days. Grant Kekana has looked comfortable at the elite level since debuting as a teenager and a large part of that is down to how well he was developed for the level he is currently playing at; a mature positional sense that seemed beyond his years from the start, coupled with his strength and timing in the tackle, make the Polokwane born stop nonsense a marvel to watch on the defensive end.

Confidence is often a trait we attribute to top young players that prove they can make the grade at the elite level, Grant Kekana continues to grow in confidence with every game he plays and the lad has continued his impressive development with great displays of competitiveness and quality. Competition on the defensive end of things is high in the current generation of talented footballers we have been blessed with; Grant’s ability to play across the backline will place him in the perfect position to be considered as a national team asset when he begins to consistently show his quality for all and sundry to see. The potential is there for the lad to build upon the solid foundation he has already established as he seeks to fulfil his potential and possibly go down as one of the best defenders to come out of the talent rich Northernmost Province of Mzansi.
