The Grand Stand View

Today’s dead-rubber against the Kings XI Punjab is a game that epitomises just how good the Chennai Super Kings continue to be, yet another Playoff appearance in the bag already for a side that just does not know what it feels like to miss out on the Playoffs; yet their proud record is one that they earn with diligent work behind great ambition and leadership at all levels and it shows in the results. CSK are by far the best, most consistent and most well managed side in the competition yet again with their roster looking like it could take one most pundits World XI and beat them in time for an early evening walk on the town.

The confidence in the side continues to grow, yet the experience and maturity within the camp allows them to channel that positive energy in the right way and keep getting the results they need. While I wax lyrical about the Super Kings, they haven’t played their best cricket ever this time around, yet they have shown their class by wining tight games through their endeavour to win decisive moments in the field and change the complexion of a game in a matter of balls. They have that battle hardened nature of true champions and they have won games that other teams could have slipped up in, it’s that grit to get the job done that makes the Chennai Super Kings hot favourites to claim their third IPL crown once they actually hit their form.
