The Grand Stand View

Few sides in the premier league can boast a record of being progressive in meeting their objectives under their current management, although few clubs can actually boast of a gaffer who has been at the helm of their squad for longer than two seasons; BidVest Wits seem to be due some success under the tutelage of the tactical mastermind named Gavin Hunt. The gaffer has used his relatively abundant resources extremely effectively, successfully establishing competitive football club on a solid defensive foundation and team ethic that has made for a settled and ambitious dressing room in Braamfontein. Now that the defensive structure of the squad has been established, the openly defensive minded Gavin Hunt has freed up the purse strings to acquire some much needed fire-power to his arsenal and his squad could potentially be better than they were last season if they keep hold of talisman Sibusiso Vilakazi or only allow him to move to an overseas based club. I know a wise, yet talkative and enlightened football man that called BidVest Wits for the title a season go; while my mate Scotch may have garnered some laughs at the prediction, hindsight may show that he was just a season too early in his call.
