The Grand Stand View

Siwelele have been extremely active in the market during the off-season, the acquisition of a batch of players with a diverse background and a unique pedigree will surely have injected some new life into the squad. There is no denying the latent fact that Bloemfontein have played their hand relatively well in the market, when one considers how hungry their signings are to prove themselves on the premier league level, for different reasons, one realises that the entire squad can only become even more competitive during this campaign.

Gaffer, Clinton Larsen, has done very well to replace the talent that was lost, and he has gone the extra mile to secure the services of some new quality signings to ensure that his squad are built to deliver the necessary results to an adoring yet demanding support base in Mangaung. Managerial stability has eluded the club in the last couple of seasons, the management will be praying for a swift acclimatisation from the new signings as they will look to see a return on investment after a pretty busy off-season out in The City of Roses. For a squad with such a deep roster, one wouldn’t expect Bloemfontein Celtic to have an average age of 26; yet the club has a proud tradition of unearthing uncut diamonds and polishing them off while they shine in the Green & White hoops of Siwelele Sa Masokolara, and they will be praying that some of their younger players continue their great development during the season. There is great potential within the squad, and they will be looking to fulfil much of that potential as the team seeks to build upon last season; the new players will add an extra incentive for competition purposes, while also adding to the quality of players available to the gaffer’s disposal.
