The Grand Stand View

Any football club that makes 13 signings in a transfer window is a team that has sent out a statement of intent to all and sundry, the fact that a large portion of their acquisitions come from the lower echelons of Mzansi diski should be even more alarming to the sides that will face them  during the season; Free State Stars have a healthy reputation for finding uncut diamonds from the lower divisions and affording them a chance to shine on the premier league stage before making their moves onto bigger clubs.

There is a sincere need for stability within the dressing room at Stars, the gaffer, Kinnah Phiri, will need to ensure that he gets his players all on one page in time for them to start putting together a good run of results early on in the season and bring some job stability to his role while steering the club clear of the relegation storm. Ea Lla Koto fans will be praying that their football club finds some stability and returns to being a thriving middle of the table club that can hold their own against any football club in the league with their lesser known, yet often potential laden stars in the making. The lower profile of their signings will allow the club a luxury of having the surprise factor over their opponents when their new players acclimatise to football in the premier league and begin to show what Stars saw in them, the club has done well to reinforce their arsenal and they will be expecting to see a great return on investment, as they have become accustomed to.
