The Grand Stand View

Talent scouting should be considered a craft, and Jomo Sono is a man that has spent his 10 000 hours mastering the craft of scouting talent and differentiating between potential and ability; the return of Jomo Cosmos to the Premiership could not have come at a better time for Mzansi diski, we have truly missed watching The Black Prince give the bigger teams in the league a torrid time with his well drilled football team that always has a young star or two in the making to boot. A relatively quiet transfer window, by Mzansi diski standards, for Ezenkosi has led to their team looking like one of the most stable of the teams south of the bottom half of the league table as according to the odds makers.

Jomo Cosmos are exactly the type of club bookies will love to hate, on their day, they can beat any opponent and that also makes them unpredictable as their day doesn’t always come when you expect it to. One will be praying that Jomo Cosmos have learned from their time in the NFD, and now that they return to the premier league level in a time where the financial level has improved considerably on all ends of the spectrum, they will be seeking to truly establish themselves as a club that deserves to be a fixture in the Premiership. I personally will be watching the lads with a keen eye as there are bound to be a few uncut gems within a Jomo Sono squad and the signings he has made will be in an effort to further strengthen the team and best position them to make a show of their first season back amongst the big boys. It does have to be noted that The Troublemaker has used his keen eye for talent and extensive scouting network to rope in some internationals from Malawi and Tanzania, we all know that Jomo has nurtured some great talents in his time and these players will be praying to become the next in a long line of illustrious names that have gone on to have great professional careers.
